DYI’s for Valentine’s Day

Hello All,

In today’s post, I am going to give you some DYI’s that you can make for Valentine’s Day for your girlfriends.

Lavender Bath Bombs Recipe

Supplies:

1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup Citric Acid
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons epsom salt
2 teaspoons Sweet Almond Oil
3/4 teaspoon water
15 drops Lavender Oil
a few tablespoons of dried Organic Lavender Flowers

and you will also need a plastic or silicone mold. If you have a heart shape mold it would work very well for Valentine’s day.

Directions

Step one: In a large bowl combine baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, epsom salt and dried lavender.

Step two: In a small bowl combine almond oil, water, and essential oil.

Step three: pour wet mixture into dry mixture. Mix with a whisk until fully combined. Test mixture by pressing a handful together. If the mixture doesn’t hold LIGHTLY, with a spray bottle, spray with water once or twice. Avoid adding too much water or the mixture will fizz and not form in the mold correctly. Once it’s the right consistency press mixture into mold and allow to dry at least 2 hours before removing. Set bath bombs on a soft towel to dry overnight.

And that is it for this recipe. The drying time really depends on how big your mold is.  Also, the quantity also depends on the size.

DYI Floral Heart

This is a great craft to do, as it is simple and would be great fun to do for Valentin’es day party fun.

Supplies for DIY Floral Hearts
  • 5-6 small bunches of artificial flowers (I bought mine at Dollar Tree for $1 each)
  • Grapevine wreath form
  • Wire cutters
  • Hot glue gun

Directions

  1. Use the wire cutter to cut off the stem of the flower, leaving a good inch
  2. Slot your flowers into the grapevine wreath form. Unless you want to use the wreath for something else, hot glue the flowers in place.
  3. Work your way around the wreath until you are satisfied with the result.
  4. Hang your wreath.
