Today we are going to talk about how to write elegantly.

With the invention of computers and other devices that write for us, there hasn’t been the need to teach penmanship classes, which had been taught back in the olden days.    However, this doesn’t stop many people from the urge to have better and prettier penmanship.

So the first thing to have is the proper equipment, such as nice pens and paper. Some people like to invest in a good fountain pen. But this isn’t entirely necessary, only use what feels comfortable to you and writes smoothly.  Next, find good grid paper. The reason why  it is good to start out on gird paper is that it provides a guide to shaping letters. Having the same space and height for all letters is important in improving your penmanship.

Lastly, buy a nice book on how to improve your penmanship. There are a variety that you can choose from as a reference,  or if you don’t have the money, borrow some from the library, which is what my sister and I do regularly.

Here are few tips to keep in mind when practicing your handwriting

1. Stretch your hands beforehand and during, as it will prevent cramped fingers
2. Have good sitting posture, which will allow you to write comfortably and hopefully neatly
3. Have patience. It will take awhile for you to adjust to writing differently, so don’t be too much in a hurry for results.
4. Practice, practice, practice.

 

After using these tips, hopefully you will be writing elegantly in now time and even impress some of you friends with your beautiful handwriting.
