Spending Quality Time with Friends

A few days ago I got the opportunity to visit friends that I haven’t seen in a long time.  We had been meaning to get together forever, but couldn’t settle on a date due to our conflicting work schedules. However, last week we were able to find a day when we were all free and get up a dinner date.

Honestly, I loved the time I spent with my friends. I have missed them, as I haven’t seen one of  my friends for six months or more.  Between working and doing all the projects that I am up to, I haven’t had much of a social life. It was extremly nice to take the evening off and spend that time with good friends.

After doing this, I realized that I needed to treasure my friends more, and spend more time with them. Sure, we can all connect on social media, but it is not the same as actually talking to them face to face and seeing their faces in real time.

So my friends and I decided that each of us is accountable to make this dinner date  a once a month event. We really cannot catch-up six months of our lives in just two hours at dinner, however much we tried.

Also, spending quality time with your friends will make you more motivated to do the things that you want to do. If you tell your friends that you have a special interest in doing a project, they will be excited for you, but also hold you accountable. I know for me, if I didn’t have my friends counting on me to do as I said I would, I probably would not do it at all, and miss out on the rewards  of actually accomplishing what I want to accomplish.

This can serve as a reminder that we need friends, good friends, to have a great well-being.

Now go out and spend some quality time with your friends.
