How to maintain a Elegant Home when Exhausted

Today we will be looking at how to maintain a elegant home when you are thoroughly exhausted. We all have those weeks when everything seems to pile up and we have so much to do. Sometimes, it is just too tempting to let things slide, such as laundry and general housework when we are this busy.
However, to be elegant is to have everything under control. When I am exhausted, the last thing that I think about is my messy room and home. However, I do feel much better if I get the clutter and things straightened. Also, if any unexpected guest comes, I don’t have the panic or have to apologize over the state of my home. Your home should be a place of relaxing, it can’t be so if things get out of hand.
So if you want to be able to maintain you home you are exhausted, then read on for my five tips of keeping a tidy home.

  • Have a cleaning schedule. Now if you are anything like my family and have different waking and sleeping schedules, this might not work. When I have my own home I will use this, but for now I just do all the cleaning on my day off, such as moping, vacuuming, dusting, etc. If I have two days off, I do the same thing since I don’t know when I will be able to get around to cleaning again, and you can’t clean too much.  There are many cleaning schedules on the internet, so just pick on that works with your schedule and cleaning needs.
  •  Have tidy habits.  This is essential to keeping a clean and elegant home. Say when you come home from work and change out of your business clothes to more appropriate causal clothes, don’t leave them in a pile in the bathroom or on your bed, or anywhere else that you might leave them. Instead hang them up and put them away in one single action. Do this with everything, the breakfast dishes, laundry etc.  Make it a habit to put things away as soon as they arrive, that way things don’t pile up and all areas of the house remain tidy and clean.
  •  Make sure to do light housework daily, even if you don’t have time to do a full one. Say, you can’t vacuum the floors, but you do have a few spare moments so take that time to dust whatever room you are in. If you make it a habit to tidy for a few minutes everyday, those dreaded clutter piles will disappear and hopefully never return.

I hope these tips are helpful to you, and if you have any more suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Have a great weekend,

Alyssa
